I had the pleasure of co-facilitating a trip to Lisbon, Portugal with my husband’s company, Off The Grid. Participants on the trip unplugged from their phones, work, and social media for 10 days in a new city. This report provides a glimpse at how we spent our time.
Forma Logo Design
Forma is a new consulting firm with one full-time employee, who has over 30 years of experience working in international health and development. Her specialty is training and instructional design, but her work also includes translation, program development, and training in fertility awareness-based methods of family planning. The tagline “learning solutions” is intended to cover this wide variety of services.
The same is true for the Forma logo. The design is illustrates that Forma can “connect the dots” for clients. The arc in the design is also intended to be consistent with the organization’s first logo, which was a simple circle with the name inside.
The logo will primarily be used in business-to-business marketing rather than on consumer-facing products. The logo in its simplest form will be the letter F with the arc and dots, as shown to the left.
Visual Identities of America's Best Zoos
There are few things I love as much as a day at the zoo. As part of a research project for a visual design course, I presented on the visual identities of the top 10 zoos in the US. No surprise, the St. Louis Zoo was number one!
Find Your Piece
Last year, my awesome mom took on the operations of a not-for-profit resale shop in O’Fallon, MO that offers job training for adults with developmental disabilities. We worked together to create a new logo and promotional content for the shop. Check out the shop on facebook and stop by in you’re in the area!
Nepal Storytelling Trip
I had the (pretty unbelievable) chance to travel to Nepal in March to document the work of the FACT Project. While there, I conducted interviews with beneficiaries and supervised a professional video crew as they collected footage for a micro-documentary and short video. The photos, quotes, and video we collected will be used for several products. These posters were hung at dissemination events in July to show local stakeholders the impact of the project. The final videos are coming soon!
What's Up With The Census?
As a student in Georgetown University’s Public Relations and Corporate Communications program, I have the opportunity to dive into a range of topics that interest me. For a communications research course, I presented on the US Census and why it is critical for both the government and business to understand their audiences.
True False Poster
Tasked with creating a poster with nothing but type, I chose to create a save the date poster for the True False documentary film festival, one of my favorite Missouri traditions.
Puberty to Parenthood Graphic
The Passages Project hosted a two-part event to present the results-to-date of the Transforming Masculinities and Growing Up GREAT! projects. This graphic, also created with only typography, was used to promote the event.
Roving Auxiliary Nurse Midwives Poster
Roving auxiliary nurse midwives (RANMs) are trained healthcare providers who work in marginalized communities in Rural Nepal. Our team created this poster (also printed in Nepali) to hang in local government offices and inform visitors about the services that RANMs can provide
